Teacher Certification Both California and Michigan require charter school teachers to hold state certification. Michigan’s charter school law also contains provisions that allow the full-time faculty of universities and community colleges that are charter school authorizers to teach in the schools sponsored by their employers. Arizona’s charter school law does not require that charter school teachers be certified.
